Double Bill:

Rossini’s La scala di seta and Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi

Curtis Opera Theatre
Curtis Symphony Orchestra

Conductor: Lio Kuokman

La scala di seta (The Silken Staircase) by Gioacchino Rossini, and Gianni Schicchi by Giacomo Puccini.

This delightful double bill pairs confusion and comedy, motivated by matchmaking. A silken ladder leads to love in Rossini’s fast-paced farce, while Puccini’s wily hero devises an audacious scheme to unite a young couple.

Fully staged production with the Curtis Symphony Orchestra, sung in Italian with English supertitles.

The Curtis Opera Theatre season is sponsored by the Horace W. Goldsmith Foundation.
